Our Strategic Plan

I. Vision and Mission

Vision: A just, equitable, and healthy world.

Mission: To expand access to quality care and improve health outcomes for all.

II. Strategic Goals and Objectives The Seed Training Hub aims to address the critical health worker shortage and enhance healthcare delivery, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, by focusing on the following goals:

Enhance Emergency Care Capacity: Significantly enhance emergency care within Uganda's national health system, and by extension, improve patient outcomes.

Improve Maternal and Neonatal Health: Provide integrated training, resources, and support to healthcare teams caring for mothers and newborns, thereby improving perinatal and neonatal health outcomes.

Develop Future Health Professionals: Prepare pre-interns for their future careers in healthcare through virtual training programs.

Strengthen Clinical Decision-Making: Equip health workers with the skills to make critical decisions in emergency cases, understand management strategies, and recognize pathologic correlations.

Expand Access to Quality Care: Leverage innovative models to provide high-quality health services and expand access to care for diverse communities.

Address Health Worker Shortage: Contribute to building the health workforce of the future by educating and training doctors, nurses, and midwives, as part of Seed Global Health's broader mission to combat the projected deficit of over six million health workers in Africa by 2030.

III. Core Approach and Methodology Seed Training Hub will primarily employ an innovative tele-mentoring and training approach:

Project ECHO Model: Leverage the innovative Project ECHO Model to deliver training and support, as exemplified by the EMS ECHO Initiative. This model connects healthcare professionals with medical experts via virtual sessions.

Case-Based Learning: Utilize deep dives into real emergency cases to break down critical decision-making and avoid common pitfalls, such as in the Clinical Pathologic Case (CPC) initiative.

Integrated Programs: Provide comprehensive programs that integrate training, resources, and support, as seen in the Perinatal & neonatal HOB Initiative.

Virtual Training: Offer virtual sessions to prepare future healthcare professionals, such as pre-interns.

IV. Key Initiatives and Programs The Seed Training Hub will continue and expand upon its foundational programs:

Clinical Pathologic Case (CPC): A deep dive into real emergency cases, focusing on critical decision-making, management strategies, and pathologic correlations.

Perinatal & neonatal HOB Initiative: An integrated perinatal and neonatal health program offering training, resources, and support to healthcare teams.

EMS ECHO Initiative: A tele-mentoring program connecting EMS professionals with medical experts via virtual sessions to enhance emergency care and patient outcomes.

Pre-interns virtual sessions: A virtual training program designed to prepare pre-interns for their future careers in healthcare.
